ABOUT KP
BACK STORY
Some people play basketball. Others live it. Kierra Paige has been immersed in the game since she was six years old, competing against kids nearly twice her age at Lucious Sanders Recreation Center in Lithonia, Georgia. From those early days, she developed the skill, toughness, and leadership that would define her career.
By third grade, she was playing AAU with the SE Dekalb Lady Eagles before moving on to the Atlanta Hawks’ youth team in fourth and fifth grade. From sixth grade through high school, she played for the powerhouse Wallace Prather Celtics/Nike Elite, where she honed her craft against the nation’s best.
At Redan High School, Kierra quickly became a star. As a freshman, she bypassed JV and played varsity, helping lead her team to an undefeated state championship as a sophomore. By her junior year, she was the team’s leader in steals and three-pointers, carrying them to another near-perfect season (58-1). As a senior, she made history—becoming only the second player in school history to score over 1,000 career points and earning a McDonald’s All-American nomination.
Her dominance continued at Alabama State University, where she played Division 1 basketball on a full scholarship. She was a freshman starter and, by her sophomore year, led the SWAC in three-pointers. Her performance earned international recognition, and in 2016, she received multiple overseas offers—including a major opportunity to play professionally in Tokyo.
But Kierra’s greatest pride is the legacy she’s building through her sons, Jazai and Jelani.
Her oldest, Jazai, born in 2017, picked up a basketball at an early age and has already made waves in the youth basketball scene. At just six years old, he led his YMCA 6U team to a championship under Kierra’s coaching. Now, as a seven-year-old, he competes in GBU and continues to develop under his mother’s guidance.
Her youngest, Jelani, born in 2020, is already following in the family tradition, showing early flashes of talent and an undeniable love for the game.
Recognizing a need for high-level skill development in young athletes, Kierra founded Key Performance D1 Basketball Training—a premier program for kids ages 4 to 14. Bringing her D1 experience, championship mentality, and coaching expertise, she has quickly built a program that develops not just basketball players but future leaders.
For parents looking to give their children an elite basketball foundation, for scouts searching for the next generation of stars, and for organizations seeking a coach with proven success at every level—Kierra Paige is the name to know.
